Velcol Groundworks Ltd managers recognise the responsibility to ensure, so far as reasonably practical, that the activities of the company do not have a detrimental effect on the environment.
The implementation of the policy will be the responsibility of the senior management and we expect the co-operation of our employees to assist us to meet our obligations.
Our aim is to promote and maintain a high level of environmental performance with our operations which generally have a low impact on the environment. We have a Health and Safety system which is active throughout the company’s activities and we ensure that the environment is not adversely affected by what we do whilst at work.
Action
To meet our stated objectives we will endeavour to meet the requirements of any relevant regulations and codes of practice.
The permitted, unauthorised or accidental release of any contaminate will be monitored and controlled to the best of our ability.
The requirements of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 will be observed throughout the company’s activities.
We have various COSHH assessments for typical products that we use on site and these can be found in the COSHH file on the company Database.
The requirements of The Controlled Waste (Regulation of Carriers & Seizure of Vehicles) Regulations 1991 and The Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations 1991 will be complied with.
Where an outside Waste Disposal Contractor is used, we will ensure that they are registered with the appropriate Authority and that the correct documentation procedure is followed.
To help achieve compliance, each contract will implement an Environmental Management Plan.
